Hi! I am Rosie.
I am a self-taught home cook fueled by a passion for crafting the perfect meal.
My culinary journey began in my childhood, inspired by watching my mom create delicious dishes from scratch.
Each day, my mom would venture out to find the freshest ingredients, gather cherished recipes, and maintain an overflowing spice cabinet. Her adventurous spirit in the kitchen was truly infectious, igniting my own love for cooking.
My Story
In 1996, juggling a demanding full-time job and a lengthy commute made it increasingly challenging and exhausting to return home and prepare a delightful meal for my family. My research revealed that I wasn’t alone; many others were facing similar health challenges due to frequent dining out. This realization inspired me to experiment in my kitchen, seeking to develop a meal prep plan that would simplify the cooking process. Soon, my weekends were consumed with shopping and cooking, but I quickly recognized that this approach wouldn’t work for most peopleāit certainly didn’t work for me, despite my love for cooking. Families want to spend quality time together during their downtime, not be tethered to the stove. There had to be a more efficient way, and I was determined to find it!
My journey led me to the American Personal Chef Association, where I discovered a business model that resonated with me and continues to guide my work today. This straightforward model revolves around crafting custom meals delivered weekly in convenient, easy-to-reheat containers tailored to the unique preferences and needs of my clients. Thus, Bent On Cooking was born in 1998, and even after many clients and years later, my passion for this work remains as strong as ever.
